A two year second term gives the Laureate and the library the opportunity to realize these efforts and showcase how poems connect to and make sense of the world around us. Ada Lemon became the 24th Poet Laureate last fall and I am so excited because on June 1 there will be an unveiling of a poem that is engraved on NASA's spacecraft and it will travel 1.8 billion mile to explore Europa, one of Jupiter's moons, a part of the Europa Clipper mission.
