Bowie on the Road | Roadrunner: Reflecting on Anthony Bourdain's Life as a Fellow Traveler

article image placeholderROADRUNNER: A Film About Anthony Bourdain - Official Trailer [HD] - In Theaters July 16
There are so many important lessons, I think, to take away from the things that were so beautiful about him as a human being and also complicated and dark and scary. It was particularly interesting for me to get a more intimate glimpse into his psychology, I guess, would be the best way to describe it. So much of the film talks about just how much of a romantic he really was and how growing up the way he did as a boy who lived so much in his imagination and in stories

@bowie Response to a great review

Thank you, Bowie so much for posting this. I was really curious about this documentary as a really, really big Anthony Bourdain fan, and I actually have to admit that in the beginning I was fairly reluctant. He had a certain blunt to him that was almost off putting, but it's actually the thing. I ended up falling in love with his brutal and sincere honesty and his perspective on so many things in his travels, and even on food, I bought his cookbook appetites

@JLMcMillan

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Bourdain. I love hearing from long time fans of his because there's a special relationship you can have with a public figure and an artist or creator like him. And it feels really personal, like a personal loss. Often I think when we lose these people because they've captured our imagination and to lose that person and what they mean to us, I think is really challenging, but because we also don't know them in real life
