How do you make time to read books?

article image placeholder8 Ways to Read More Books—And Why You Should
If I'm in the mood for a certain kind of book, it's more likely that I will make the time to read that. So it means that I'm usually in between two to five books at any given time, and I think that's great. Lastly, find a reading community. This is why places like this community on Swell, where we can talk about books and give recommendations and tips and check in with one another, is so wonderful to incorporate into your reading life. Somebody asked me if they can help me find a book. I say I like weird books and a lot of high fantasy books are they're thick and you need a lot of patience to get through it. And unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time for patience to get through a book. I have to kind of speed through it. I like Stephen King. He's really easy to read. I'm reading right now, Alice by Christina Henry

Audible was probably the biggest thing that helped me read a lot of books.

So if you don't know exactly if you're not trying to pay attention to how big the books are I mean, audiobooks specifically, I know anybody that's listened to audiobooks knows the feeling of walking through a bookstore and going, I've read that. That book is ridiculously big. And I never would have picked it up if I would have realized you listen to the audiobook 20 hours, audiobook not that big of a deal

I Keep A Book In My Purse

And that helps to eliminate the excuses of not having time. Because throughout the day, there's always pockets of time where we can read. Like if we were scrolling less on our phones, we could get some reading time in. We could get a couple of pages done. If we cut back on our TV time, then we can get some reading time in. So there's always ways to find time. Just be mindful of the time that you're spent doing mindless things

Because a lot of us, when we read stuff, we usually are looking like, oh, what's the New York Times bestseller? What's popular right now? This, that, whatever. So we don't usually have the opportunity to find some of these more fringe type independent things

I'm also picking super simple books for that one. So I read tiago forte's second I heard tiago forte's second brain building a second brain. I also heard house under the cerulean sea. The latter was so much more enjoyable as an audible experience for me. So I think I'm going to stick with fiction on audible. I'm more simple fictions on audible as I go about my daily chores around the house

Some books you aren’t in the mood for at the time.

And that could just be your state of mind at the time because I have that where you go back and try to reread a book that you passed over because for some reason you just were not into it at the time. And the second time around you're like, oh, this is actually a pretty decent book. I don't know why I put it down. I feel like somebody mentioned stephen King in here as well

When I make time for reading, my environment needs to be a specific way. Plus, have you heard of the #Remarkable tablet?

Or maybe I am in a louder environment and I am wanting to have a book nearby or read through a book, but putting the book in my ears through headphones and listening to it also offers that environment that still is quiet because I'm listening to it through my headphones. So I'm able to still absorb the awesome story that I'm listening to. I also want to share that I know folks were talking about the Kindle tablet, but I also want to offer the Remarkable tablet is really awesome
