Which Authors are an 'Auto-Buy' for you?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Ramya
Hi books. Swell. Here's a question for you. Is there an author whose books are an autobuy for you? For me, it would have to be Alexander Mccallsmith, a prolific author with several series to his credit, with the most famous one being the number one ladies detective agency that has over 20 plus books, all of which I have obsessively purchased, read and reread

You. This is such a great topic. So there's a couple of auto buys from me. Stephen King, as you said, is an auto buy from me. There aren't many books of his that I don't like. I put pictures of Chuck Pollinick. He wrote club choke. Those were two books that were made into movies. Fight Club being the most popular. Haruki Murakami is another one that is an auto buy for me

I think these days I buy books based on recommendations, based on reviews, and maybe just based on gut feeling. And if ever there's a poetry collection, then I grab that regardless of who the author is. But this where the topic did make me think if I had an author, that I would default to an autobuy mode. Who would that be? I don't know. I'm still figuring it out. Maybe I'll let you know once I have an answer

It's just that I would wait for their book to come out and just go ahead and buy it. So just as I was browsing through these shelves and my old books, this question popped into my head and I thought, okay, why not ask the community and see if there are there is such a thing as autobios for the bookish people out here. So, yeah, once again, thank you so much for chiming in

He has a way with the way he narrates history in a storytelling form and which I find it extremely interesting. And yes, I am hooked on to Manu's books as well. So these three authors are, I think, my autobuy as of now

Cormac McCarthy

I think he's impacting my work as a photographer as well as a writer myself, but can't miss it once I hear he has some work or I don't own all his books. If I find out that he has some essays or something of some kind, I jump all over it. Great writer, highly recommended
