The Poems of John O'Donohue

article image placeholderJohn O'Donohue
So on meeting a stranger with respect and reverence that the unknown between us might flower into discovery and lead us beyond the familiar field, blind with the weed of weariness and the old walls of habit. I love this poem so much and I'm so excited to read more by John O'Donahue, and I'd love to hear anything that you've been reading recently that has really resonated with you. Maybe it's just a line, maybe it's a poem, but please share. I'd love to hear

Oh, I'm gonna paste here the most delicious conversation between John and Krista Tippet. Really beautiful. I discovered it when I was hiking in Mammoth. Mammoth, you know, Mammoth a big mountain a couple of years ago. It was recorded in 2008, and it's timeless. And it's beautiful

Thinking about song lyrics vs. poetry 🤔

But when I read some of them out loud thinking, maybe I'll reply to Bowie here and share some of those couples. They don't really work outside of the context of the play, where they're being voiced by a character expressing some inner emotion. Sandheim himself said, Where is it here? It is. One difference between poetry and lyrics is that lyrics sort of fade into the background. They fade on the page and live on the stage when set to music
