Now I will say I'm not religious. I don't believe in God in any capacity. I'm a cynic, I'm a skeptic. What have you so I don't want you to think I'm telling you to read this book out of some sense of moral conviction, or I think it will convert you to religion. It won't. But it is a phenomenal read, at least from the perspective of existential philosophy

Octavia Butler’s Kindred

Hey, Connor, this sounds like a really interesting book. And speaking to the idea of a science fiction writer putting some moral questions in our path to have us stumble over or breakthrough or or really grapple with. I think it's one of the biggest gifts that a lot of science fiction writers have given us over time. I mean, existential threats, of course, but from Margaret Atwood, of course, to George Orwell to Arthur C. Clarke

And then there are times, I think, no, let's not do this. Let's not get into it. Existential fiction. I read a couple of books last year that was existential existential, existential existential science fiction. Why bad things of Sci-Fi ish. And I can't remember the name of it to save my life. But I'm just thinking, I don't like existentialism in a book because it's not definitive
