Podcast thoughts? What works? What doesn’t?
Also of the podcaster. If the voice is just kind of I like podcasts with energy. If the podcaster cares about what they're talking about, then I'm in it. I cannot stand podcasters who just keep the commercials. I mean, if there's, like, five minutes of commercials, you've already got me at two and a half. I'm turning it off. Right? So there's that aspect for me that turns me off

We're presenting a certain thesis that we're presenting a book called The Lost Guru. And my wife and I would read a part of the book and then discuss a part of the book, and maybe we need to get back to doing that, but it's a lot of work. It takes a lot of effort to write a book first off and then Secondly to read it in a way that's interesting for people to hear

I am, but I have a certain idea of what it is that I want to say before the five minutes are up and some people can talk all day and say a lot of nothing. I am a music producer, so I do utilize music within my podcast, but you'd have to hear it to understand the old podcast

Because you're like, hey, I listened to other podcast. It was so boring. And person was just talking in monotone. And somewhere you're like, Well, is it just me that I don't like this? I mean, what's wrong with me that I don't like this? And then someone else was like, oh, my gosh. That one's so boring. So monotony. You're like, oh, my gosh. Right

I was kind of going in on it, but it was like an audio thesis that she made into a podcast, so it wasn't really tailor made for energy. It was her just reading s***. So it just was boring for me

Yeah, it's a three day limit. I think it might be coming down now that I'm calm or as a person and all of that. But, yeah, I like what you're saying. It's energy and small talk for 710 minutes before actually getting in. I thought you meant the podcast itself was a podcast about small talk. And I was like, Well, if that's what the podcast is about, what are you complaining about, Juan?

Plus, Paprika equals. I don't know what, but, you know, if you brought that kind of energy and passion to a topic and just let it rip, I'd listen to you

So yeah, I'm starting to get basically, I'm saying I'm getting back into the podcasting world. You use anchor. So I'm guessing you might use the interlude. And I have decided that once I get my microphone and all that sounding right, I'm going to do the ads again. So this time I'm going to have fun with the ads. Whereas before I try to use my radio voice, it's like anchor. I forget the ad

I mean, there are some podcast buzz where I'm actually interviewing authors and things like that, so it's just more like a talk, like someone could actually find it boring unless they're interested in what the author's saying and things like that. Sometimes it's just me rambling about books. Anyway, see again, off on a tangent now, I don't even know where I started and where I'm going, but, oh, yeah, you're doing a podcast

But glad you would listen to my absolute craziness. And I'm so glad you guys, both of you didn't say Shinz. It all sucks. You suck the podcast pretty soon. Yeah. I don't even know what I'm drunk on today. I have no idea. Yeah. I'm just sitting here and went on a hike, and it was just really nice and it's just been good. So I think I'm just happy. Yeah

Otherwise, why the h*** would you even bother to waste your time? Never mind other people's time reading a bloody book. I mean, never mind a podcast that talks about books, talking about books. You better have something to contribute, something that makes the person goes, Well, I need to listen to this more. And that's the sweet spot. That's the challenge, right? Yeah

We grow through conversations. We grow through our words, through thinking, reflection, all of that. So we need each other. We need to have vibrant conversations. And we need to expose ourselves to other people's ideas and seek to understand one another. It's desperately needed. And so the podcast, the spoken word audio apps like this are essential

They're like, I love your month and reviews because I get this and this and this from and I'm like, okay, cool. And then just today, someone messaged me and said, oh, my gosh, you have the best bookish podcast. This is the podcast I listen to, and I'm like, someone's actually listening
