Should political parties hold physical rallies?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Bmat
So if you are fond of shoes, they will show you a lot of ads and sneakers. And that's how advertising works today. I think political parties also need to evolve to this personalized targeting of voters. It makes no sense to have a bigger alley where you have all kinds of people attending it and you make a general outreach to all of them

With the rise of #Covid19 cases clashing with #elections in India,I ponder over the need to hold physical rallies and whether better options are there

So instead of these things they can come up, they can release manifestos and which they already do not only on social media but also posters can be circulated which already happens, but it can happen on a large scale so that more can be done on ground level by sharing the posters and manifestos and telling people about the parties, agendas and all on a ground level

I guess something like radios, like all in their radio is there there can be channels that they can use. I don't know. There are many ways you can broadcast your election rally speeches and everything going door to door is not very feasible. But if it's like election, Addy that's for a lower level, like for Sigram Pittsburgh, it's just like a village thing, then it's kind of understandable. But otherwise it's not really practical on a large scale TV medium

Thanks for replying, Mega. I think you raised a very important point, which I overlooked in my opinion, and that is that rallies are basically meant to mobilize the workers of the political party of which the leader belongs to. So I've personally seen this how political workers, they get very excited when a big leader, a Minister, may be the leader of a big party

@Grace_126

Thank you for applying Grace. I think you have raised a very valid suggestion, a very great suggestion that radios and TVs can be used by political leaders to reach out to their voters, since TVs and radios are more, more prevalent in rural areas as compared to, say, smartphone or computers

Yeah, they can also show the tweets or comments or posts which are in their favor. And to make a general belief that yes, this party is wintering, this party is getting more support and out of peer pressure, out of society, out of peer pressure, people will vote there. They will not console their members and their friends and stuff and they'll stick to whatever is shown in the social media, whatever is projected, and then they'll vote accordingly
