The Sanders Effect

But it's a system set up for his son to be successful, for all the players to be successful. But the bigger picture, yes, the university is going to make more money. Good for them. Secondly, the town is going to make more money. People are staying in the hotels. People are eating in the restaurants. People are having to use transportation, whether it be Uber or Lyft or whatever it may be. People are shopping in the grocery stores

If he says he's going to accomplish it, it gets done. And people are forgetting what he did at Jackson State. He made HBCUs relevant in college sports again. What he did at Jackson State, and that came at his own expense. They didn't have money to pay him. They didn't even have money to run their program there. A lot of the things that he did at Jackson State came out of his own pocket

Now, I don't really care for people who are taking this to the next level to talk about it. It's really not. You are a student athlete. That's what he is promoting. Student athlete, respectable men. There was a speech that he gave to the football staff players at Jackson State when they had a break and what he told them, what he talked to them about, that's not being talked about

Hi, Brian. It's funny, when I first saw the title, my mind went to Bernie Sanders at first. And so I clicked on to find out, assuming this was like political. And then I'm like, oh, Dion Sanders, I'm laughing at myself here. And so it's funny because obviously I know who he is and Coach Prime time. So I'm doing some Google as I'm listening to your swell and I'm like, oh, University of Colorado

@Luchianna

I noticed when they had, like, Warren Sapp came in and gave a speech, he's really teaching them how to just be good people. And the only thing, as someone who's worked in universities where we had student athletes, I went to the president of the university. It was a small university. And I said, well, they're students, and this was a small private university

@DearAuntyAng

Had to laugh. My daughter actually went to see Bernie Sanders speak when she was in college. And so, yeah, that made me laugh. I'm not a huge college football person either. I follow Eastern Michigan University because that's where my daughter went to college. Other than that, and then I don't truly follow them. It's not like to hope to catch a game. I like going to football games
