Advice for new people joining a gym for the first time. March 20th 2023

Not so much power lifting. I used to do strong man. I stopped doing that, and I'm currently just kind of a maintaining phase as far as lifting goes. But best gym right now, in my opinion, is Planet Fitness. Believe it or not, one thing that kind of irked me a little bit about Planet Fitness was the whole no judgment zone. Little judgy with the stuff they put on their walls about the meatheads. Apparently that come in there

And a lot of the fitness studios have yoga. I'm not sure if Planet Fitness does, which I would be very surprised if they did have yoga, but I think that's a super important part of any fitness place, especially if you're not looking just to be the bodybuilder, but staying mobile and having that. Those stretching routines are so effective

Just kind of stay limber, stay stretched out and functional. Another podcast I listened to, which I highly recommend, the guy talks about being, you know, functionable and, you know, being able to move because you see so many people put on so much mass and these guys who are bodybuilders. And even when I was a little bit heavier at my competition days, my range of motion was terrible until I started working on stretching, doing yoga poses, which absolutely helped my core
