My favorite bowl of food when I was ten years old...
You my favorite bowl of food when I was ten years old. Mita Achar, or Kerry kachar, as someone may call it. For those who don't know, mita Achar is made using raw mangoes. You cut slices of raw mangoes, sun dry them, and once dried, toss it up with masalas made up of kalajira, soft salt, sugar syrup, and preserve the mix for a couple of days before it's ready to eat

Hi, Salik. I really loved how your spell turned into a childhood anecdote of sorts, to which I related a lot because when I was a kid and I used to visit my grandmother during summers because summer vacations almost always entailed a visit to my grandmother. And she was the only grandparent I had because on my father's side, none. Both of them had unfortunately passed away even way before I was born. I just had my dima, as I used to call her
It's sweltering hot and terrible, so when you're back from school, you just throw your school bag, wash your hands or thunder. Thunder. The Hivala chowel still holds such a strong memory that I always find it comforting food, like many find dal chowal. But for me, the curd rice is something which has a lot of fond memory and value to it. Thank you for sharing your memory. I loved it. Thank you

Sun dried, but still. And they were like salty and sweet at the same time. Because, of course, raw mangoes, they are kind of tart. But the one you're talking about, that's completely different. It

Yes. I think you're talking about the same thing. Over the years, I've seen so many different ways of preparing the same mita char. I mean, you can call it Kata mita char, but I think raw mangoes is, anyways, Qatar. Right. So it's just how you call it Mita Char. And that's how I remember it as well

You home cooking displays so much more than the benefit of eating delicious food and not wondering where it's been or how contaminated it is. I mean sure, some things can be contaminated but not nearly as much as prepared food from someone else
Hi Sulek. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Mita Achar story and trust me, this was more of a nostalgia trip. And now when I sit and remember, I rather try to remember. I am not able to think the favorite bowl of food when I was ten. Probably nothing more than Maggi, but your story was really amazing. It took me on a nostalgia trip. Thank you
