My Dwindling Era

article image placeholderMacho Man
I got to drive me and my girlfriend got to take her son to the Newark, New Jersey airport and then drive back home again. And it's about 2 hours from here. And I know what you're thinking. You're like, oh, well, the New Jersey Turnpike is a wonderful scenic road. No, it's not mainly because the New Jersey Turnpike is located in New Jersey. Come on. Even if you live there, you kind of had to get that

Life, middle age

Welcome back…

Well, let's cross that bridge when we get there are people dying on me and watching shows and, oh, this person's not alive. This person's not alive. Interesting. You bring that up. I would say, I don't notice it. But every so often I'll watch a show with my husband and he'll be like, Well, that person is dead and that person is dead, and that person is dead. And I'm like, oh, my God

You know what I mean? But I saw it. I saw it up close and personal, and it harsh, my mellow, but good. You know what I'm saying? So I don't know. As far as technological advancement, I think it's happening at a much more rapid pace. Now, if you ever watched a documentary to transcend a man about Ray Kurzweil, he predicted exponential growth through technology

So it's so great to hear your voice, but, yeah, we are getting older, but let's do it together. Let's do it with Grace. Let's do it with celebration. And let's do it in conversation with those who are going to kick our a**** because they're younger and they want us to keep shut up and live your life and stop monitoring it from wrinkle to wrinkle. That's my thought. In terms of wrestling

All right, Deborah, I have a lot of things to say regarding that and especially explaining why I used to love professional wrestling. But I'm sitting in my Buddy's Woodfired pizzeria because I don't make good choices, like high hydrating. I'm hydrating right now with a big wave ale, and I'm going to have a nice pizza with pickles on it. Pickles. It sounds ridiculous, but it's delicious

Oh, my God. I just got to say, I so don't want to come up with one of those California chicks that says, we got to do all these good things to keep ourselves happy. It's so important to have pickles on your pizza and have a beer. I'm going to do that right now. I'm going to go have pickles in my beer

And they don't understand where all the good men are. And I think, well, the good men aren't looking at you. They're not interested in you. You just look like problems. You look like a whole bag of fuckery that I don't have time for at my age. You know what I mean? So I don't know. The human condition is weird. I think that's what we're getting out here, professional wrestling now. I'm not a fan anymore

They look old, but then they are fit. They're probably fitter than, say, a 70 year old who doesn't have the same mental well being as the 100 plus year old does. So I guess the short answer to this is in your mind, and it is how well connected you are and how much you are interacting with people on a day to day basis and how much you keep talking to people on a day to day basis. That's going to determine how long you live

@sudha yes!

Suda I love that specific point you make about the certain cultures where you just can't afford to be depressed because you're just around life. In all it formed in all all its annoying forms and all its buoyancy. And when you tear your hair out because things are crazy, you just can't afford to or it's not natural to just feel all the voices in your head pulling you back

I mean, staying connected to the people in your community as much as possible. Socializing feeling that connection still, I think, is definitely important. And the American culture doesn't seem to place the same priority on respecting older people the same way other cultures seem to do. And maybe that's why you see a lot of older people get depressed when I think about it. Now, if I'm out in public, the ones who try to strike up conversations with you seem to be the older people

Time waits for no man, but enjoy the time you have here.

So obviously for him to die a couple of weeks later, he wasn't really doing good. But yeah, to my understanding, a passage of life. And I too, will one day be one of those guys that passes away and people will talk about it. But life will go on. I guess I guess I just have to make a bunch of good memories and live my best life in between time. But yeah, I think I'm just really aware aware of people passing away now

Is all that was happening there? Other thing is, I think he must have lived somewhere near me because there's an old historic Queen theater down in the city. And he used to do before covet semi regular, like, dance party things. There he was the DJ. So I have to assume he must have not been too far from here because I don't think you do major traveling into Wilmington for that. So I know Jazzy Jeff lives not far from here, too
