Spotlight Poet: dg nanouk okpik

article image placeholderdg nanouk okpik
I know that she doesn't like to capitalize her name, and she got her BFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts and her MFA at the University of Southern Mainstone Coast College. Other than that, not a lot is known about her or revealed about her because I think her goal is to have much of her poetry speak for her and her views, which I think is completely admirable and understandable considering the topic that she chooses to focus on

okpik is an Inupiat-Inuit poet who writes on behalf of our warming planet. She anticipates a hopeful future. #womenshistory #environment #indigenous

"A Year Dot", and "If Oil Is Drilled in Bristol Bay"

To learn, you must be open, diligent, and willing to be an individual 11,000 years with webbed feet, land also without any fear of predators, but still on the page, grow spotted mushrooms and morals. Examine the distortion and effects of the warming Earth, the change of the Ice Age with purpose as the warming Earth today
