The Art of Slow Fashion

article image placeholderfashion
I think there's a certain technique to buying clothes that aren't being advertised to you or projected on any screen you watch. I think that in order to truly practice slowfashion, you have to have some sort of self awareness. You have to know what you like and what you don't like because it involves a lot of filing through clothes don't necessarily meet your aesthetic and finding things that match your personality perfectly. It's sort of like a creative scavenger Hunt

There's skill and technique that comes with purchasing clothes ethically and curating your own aesthetic. #fashion #arts #sustainability #slowfashion

I remember going into Target and being able to find things that I loved wishing I could afford it, and it being so much easier to find something that I liked in my size at fast fashion places than it was at thrift stores. However, for the environment and also for economic reasons. Thrift stores are definitely a better deal on all of those accounts. But yeah, I really appreciate you bringing some positivity and deeper meaning into the act of thrifting

@Izzy

It's a tricky situation because, you know, everybody needs clothes, but I think the only real way to get ahead of this and acknowledge it and be an ally to those who do actually rely on the resources of thrift stores, and the like is to just be smart and considerate about it. Don't be excessive about your thrift shopping. Only go when you need new clothes and when you're there don't get in people's ways. Be respectful
