Because I think that's what artists struggle with when they have periods where they just need in a profound way to express their journey, like Demi is doing. Will we be big enough to let her go through this and honor this moment, but also let her go through it and not put stickers all over her face, that this is her. Can we let her just emerge and grow and kind of reach the sky and take us to new galaxies that have nothing to do with this period?

Pop music is usually about trivial temporary pleasures like drugs, alcohol, hooking up, parties, things like this. Sometimes pop music is even about love or heartbreak. But even when pop examines those sorts of topics and situations, it usually does it from a very limited perspective. It doesn't dive in too deep. It doesn't really give us an idea of how these things truly feel. In my mind
