Redrawing borders and the lesson from Africa

article image placeholderOn GPS: Kenya's clarion call on Ukraine - CNN Video
And Africa at that point could have all these African countries could have just spent all their time fighting to redraw those maps. But for the most part, they realized that there are bigger problems to worry about, economic development and things like that to focus on. And it's not worth engaging in kind of never ending warfare and with each other just to redraw borders and maps

Because if you put it into sort of tribal areas and make everyone sort of homogeneous across Africa, you end up with 400 and something odd States, which, again, it makes it incredibly difficult to delineate, it makes it incredibly difficult to even coordinate anything. So it's a real pain on. And if you go, well, let's adjust this map and adjust that map

I think you subscribe heavily to no borders, but I I think such a concept of no borders can come about in many parts of the world if we all move to one global currency. And I believe that that will eventually have to happen

@MichaelHilliard

You look at China and Taiwan for example. There are so many other places where there are territories dispute. Are there any that you feel are worth considering redrawing borders or should we all of them just make sense to keep status quo and move on

Hey Sudha, thanks for your response. And just to set the record straight, I don't believe in no borders. I don't think we'll have we should even try for that. But my question was about changing the borders. I think can we we've been a place where we are not fighting over redoing borders and we just learned to live with the status quo to avoid conflict and strife. Even though the status quo might not be perfect

Arish very interesting subject my dear, and it's so nice to hear about this. I mean, how you've put it, regarding the Africa Nations not considering the border issues to be as important th as the wider interest of the countries is. But sadly, I think in most of the world, most of the countries, most of the governments have their own selfish agenda which they like to pursue. And these border disputes are something which they don't want to settle probably anytime soon

That said, I do believe that eventually, if the world, as explained by Vikas, were to come into play where citizens are the true shareholders of the resources of the land and the government is really just aboard overseeing the workings, we really have to, I believe, get to no borders scenario to some extent, because unless we get there and I know that a lot of people disagree, because I do believe the way we are going, the next step in this entire conflict is going to be every country is going to want to arm itself to the teeth
