#AskSwell Should I Read Spare by Prince Harry

article image placeholderSpare (memoir) - Wikipedia
Hello. I have a reading list I maintain on Amazon and periodically I review it and either buy a book from it or remove it from the list. I added a spare to that list when it came out and was in the news everywhere, but since then it seems to have fallen off a bit from the cultural consciousness, if you will. And so I was not sure if it's worth investing the time and effort to read it

#books Let me know if you have read the book https://s.swell.life/STcYeRbXadtLXAd

It's the story of how a prince wants to live a normal life, affected by too many people taking over his world, and nobody hearing him or listening to him. And that, as far as I'm concerned, pertains to a lot of every example, a lot of different kinds of examples. But this specific book talks about his childhood in Africa. It talks about his experience in the war and just being a normal person, trying to have a normal relationship and be a normal father

And I did find part of the book frustrating because it was very much autopilot. But then when he met Megan, then things began to shift. And yeah, I think if you take it at face value, I don't know, it depends on how you listen to it, how you read it. But I found it really eye opening

It was a pretty good account. He was very forthcoming and candid and overall, I think pretty honest, although you could tell he's still injured by what happened. I think there was a part of the book, and I think Christine mentioned it too, when he got into his military service. I think maybe it was just a couple of chapters, but it was really drawn out for me. But I know some people might be into that, like the particulars of his military service

So you may not get a response back. But the culture and the invitation is if you feel like talking in a particular soil, even it's very old, just hit reply and do that. And thank you so much for your feedback on the book here. It's definitely intriguing

You. Thank you for that. I actually really enjoyed that book myself. I like that you were talking about the Narcissism of the royal family. I mean, I've been a follower of the royal family for forever and I do never think of it in terms of the narcissism of the family, but of course it is, and as are all celebrities
