Insights from my Poetry class
And so what I discovered was that I have this habit in Palms where if I'm out of ideas, like I'm really dry, I'll just write something. Like I'll pick a topic and I'll focus on it. So for my poem, I've published it on my website, I think, yes, I have, but I haven't read it aloud. And as well, I will soon, so you guys can know what I'm talking about

I feel like this poem needs a lot of work because I was practicing her set with this poem. So I feel like my creativity and my imagination kind of was a bit limited. So I'm still workshopping this. I'm still working on getting it more, giving it more body and more images in there because I feel like that's what I lack

I thought, I don't know, I had issue kind of with very CollegeY poetry of being too image based and not maybe, I don't know, having as much substance or focusing, I don't know, like, kind of leaning too much the other way. And I really liked yours. You say you're vague, but I thought it was pretty direct

But one thing, and I don't know if it's like a creative decision or if I'm just, like, scared of change. Not too sure. But honestly, thank you for that response because you just cleared up any insecurity I had about this poem about Blanche because everybody kept saying it was vague, it wasn't enough information, that they wanted more background, more contextualization
