A piece of advice I would give to my younger self...

And that's what we really want more in this world, is authentic people as well as truthful people. Because back then, I was taught to lie a lot because you can't talk to these people or they'll take you away. Just that type of stuff. Because I was not in a good home. And, oh, yeah, I think it still applies to a lot of people, but same outcome, different situations, because we all have different backgrounds

This is really beautiful advice. And it's probably the same one that I would give myself as well. Just so worried when I was smaller about what other people thought, what other people wanted, to the point where I didn't even know what I wanted or what I liked or who I was. So I would really encourage that in myself. I don't know if she would listen, but I would encourage that. Thank you for participating in this prompt, and. Yeah, thank you

So while it is very easy to say to not care about things, which is right, which is what I tell my daughter, that don't care, but she comes back and says that, mom, it still hurts when someone says something unkind, it hurts. So yes, acknowledge it. But love yourself enough to know that acknowledgment needs to move to a place of acceptance and letting go so that my younger self knows that it does get better in the end. So thank you

You. Thank you for sharing that. How true is everything you said? Just wonderfully true. Difficult, though, right? Difficult. And it got me thinking is how would we, in this day and age, parent that? How would we teach that? How would we teach kids to be authentic in this world where there's so much dissonance? I don't know, but at least not right now. I'll think on it. Thank you so much
