#Climate Scientists Offer Open Invitation for public to join in their activism. Leaders, step UP.

You. Well, from Cop 28, friends, we have the big call to action resounding invitation from a thousand climate scientists who are urging the public to become activists. I don't know if or why we've been waiting for people to invite the public to become activists, but this is a really powerful article in The Guardian by Damien Gale. Literally, they're just saying we need you and this is to join the collective to be part of this. I love that this is this call

I did want to ask you about the invitation for people who can't live a full life of commitment, which is most people, but they need to feel like what they do is very important, because when some people try to change everything all at once, there's fatigue and there's fallout and they're not able to sustain it. But it's that phased in approach that's so important. I have real compassion for people who really love meat and their body needs it

And we did this really fun interview and we talked about being all or nothing in the plant based space and sort of what that means to us and why neither of us believe that all or nothing is the way to do it. So, for example, in terms of leveraging your influence, he's got a lot of friends who really get what he's doing and want to move to a more plant based diet, but they just can't picture giving up pizza, for example

I wanted to add to this conversation some links for people who are particularly interested in so Meatless Monday is one organization that really helps you veer plant based, as is reducetarian.org both places. You'll find recipes, you'll find community. Amazing organizations both. And then I added Bike League. It's the League of American bicyclist. Bicyclists

Be proud of any of your climate actions and don’t forget that they count as activism. #ClimateInfluence

So there are ways to do this and be really comfortable and to be proud and to list it. And then you see that you are building your climate activism, and there's a lot for you to be proud of, and your actions will motivate others, too. And that is activism as well. So just about to head out on a trip to visit my family but I had to reply to this wonderful point, Lori, thanks so much

Bold tell, not humble brag

It is astounding to me the things that people don't do because they fear they'll be perceived as bragging or too big or too loud. How do we replace humble brag? Is it the bold tell? Is it the calm tell? Is it the self aware celebration? I mean, what is it that allows us to feel know, Andrea, saying what you're talking about with your clients, saying it to myself in the mirror before I say it so that media picks it up

If we want to avoid the "humble brag", what will the many of us who are boldly leading in climate feel comfortable with? Own your voices, people!

And it's so interesting because it really kind of connects to what I've seen in the women's leadership space in that a lot of women kind of later in their forty s and fifty s are just kind of suddenly realizing that they haven't been proud enough or really been empowered and had agency with being a visible leader and really going for it. So this is a wonderful call to action. What is the term? What are the ways that this would be comfortable for people?

@Andrea_Climate

And Andrea, to your point, when you're being nice, or when you're not bragging, or when you don't want to be perceived as too aggressive, or you don't want to say the honest truth that the candidate is not qualified, or you don't want to say the honest truth that you can already see in the interview that your potential future employer has some HR challenges
