Why do we suffer? Are we addicted to it?

Meditation, mindfulness, bringing ourselves to the present, awareness that's right with us in every single moment. See, it's from this area that we get to create, that we get to give ourselves purpose and drive our meaning. Our problem is that our mind has become ill. We're stuck in the past or we're worried about the future. And we've chosen to live in a mode of being that's not only illusory, but it's counter to our natural state

Hey, Christopher. Welcome to swell. There's something really provocative about the balance between tough love and holding someone's hand. And when we accompany people, I'll just use myself as an example. Why would I other people if I'm feeling victimized by something and I'm stuck in the story of that victimization? There's so many cages around that story that you have to find locks for each of those cages. And sometimes those cages become our identity

But many times those locks, I think, are something that we need to imagine our way out of first, and then we access it in the body. I think many of these locks are physically attached, right? So it starts in the mind, but it's also rooted in our body. So we have to find some sort of balance in what we're doing there. Right. A good way to look at this is say you have a traumatic experience

We think what will happen tomorrow and what happened yesterday correlate it and we forget that we are in the present moment and we have to be happy. So I also want to state a quote in this, a famous one unborn. Tomorrow dead yesterday wife read so much if today be sweet. Yes, today is always sweet for us. But we keep thinking about the past. Memories and memories are to cherish. Good memories never fade away, I feel. But we should somehow try to overcome

Hey, thank you so much prepar for sharing with us here. I'm so glad that I've seen I've had so many people resonate with the topic and yes, it is, it's a sticky situation. Suffering can be difficult and it does linger. But I think the issue that we have the most is our perspective around the suffering. For instance, without the suffering that I went through, wouldn't be in the position that I'm in, right

Thank you so much. Christopher Prabha Fasi I would thank you for the reply that you gave me. Yes, indeed, suffering teaches better things in life and once you come out of it, you get good experience. Yes and you can share with others so that you can stop their issues in future too. And as you said yes, all the sufferings are not exactly the sufferings
@WildThingEmily
And I think a lot of this has to do to your point about not knowing our core self. Truly, we get off on this suffering or we are addicted to the pain and the suffering because it reinforces external conditioning and stories about us, right?
