Unfriending Friends

article image placeholderUploaded by @Wuandurful
It's just the type of person he is now, not the person who I was cool with back then, and it just got to a point where I know for some people because this is a Facebook situation and it became a later Instagram situation. But now some people can simply just choose to unfollow them, but they're still seen as friends on their Facebook. But for me, that's fake that's inauthentic. When I am ready to part with you, I just unfriend

Have you ever decided to hit that button, and if so why? #socialmedia

My approach differs depending on platform @Wuandurful

But I don't want to see 75 posts every day from this guy. So I will remain friends, but just not see his updates. But I think the distinction there is that LinkedIn were connections were not necessarily friends, and I still want to remain connected to that history of people that I worked with. So to me, there's just that small difference on how I approach it from different platforms

Avoiding the awkwardness until you can’t. @Phil

And for me, with Facebook, it is a place where a lot of my family members and friends get to see me because I'm just not an outgoing guy like that for many reasons. But I'm just not an outgoing guy enough to where they see me in the flesh a lot. So a lot of times they're going to see me on video or picture and things like that

Mental health aspect is spot on!

I think you just hit on the absolute key of it all. It's about mental health. And if you have somebody that's posting every day that's either aggravating you or just not on the same wavelength as you, and it causes you anytime at all to kind of focus on what they're saying or just it distracts you from anything else that you care to do during that day. It's not worth the time anymore, and it's not worth the mental anguish
