The authenticity factor

Rowling and E. L. James being asked to write under masculine pen names, I somehow believe the publishers would have had some kind of say here about the male audience, not perhaps taking crime fiction by women too seriously. But it is so heartening to see the tide turning for I believe writing should never be gendered, and I'd like to touch upon something else here
