I know how I feel, and I'll probably get to that a little bit later, but thought that we'd get the conversation going and see how I this news makes you feel

Global vs village economy

Okay to get this party started with looking at inflation and the disparity of rich and poor. I think this has been sort of the case also ways. So I know a trillion is unfathomable to someone who makes even $15 an hour, which seems to be a lot these days compared to the minimum wage. Still, the disparity between those two populations has always been a disparity. And now we see it broadcast on every channel

And I think Hassan Minaj, the comedian, did an epic episode on this a few years ago, which really broke this down, and I'm going to link it here. But I'm curious to know the ways ahead amongst all of this darkness, if you will. So far, we have the village economy example and redistributive wealth tax again. Re eight posts. And I'd love to hear more perspectives on this

I was also a reminder of an experimental show that took a family from today and have them live under the same conditions prior to or around when the minimum wage was first established in England. And if I recall correctly, this is such a powerful way of really showcasing why minimum wage was created to begin with, which was to protect the working class from really being taken advantage of as a result of bare minimum salaries for maximum profit

@ivanf what do you think of universal basic income?

And I was wondering what you thought about the idea of the universal basic income. I'm assuming you live in Spain, but I'd love to have this discussion. What do you make of universal basic income? And what are some good welfare mechanisms examples across the world that don't go the way that minimum wage has been going across the world. And yeah, I'd love to know what you think about the idea of universal basic income because it hasn't been implemented in India and Asia as well

@Karan.Dev Mindset shift, Expected cost of things, Imagine by John Lennon

With the current economic disparities across countries, it would be very hard to tell, for instance, a less developed country to comply with a minimum wage, much less keep up with it over time, the subjective reality of what things are worth would probably also have to change. Imagine in India or in the Dominican Republic, telling a person that the cost of a haircut would now be much higher than what they're used to
