Yesterday, Bill Gates was asked in an interview about this issue, and he came out in favor of protecting the IP, and his argument was that it is not the recipe of the vaccine that is the issue, but that it is very hard to safely manufacture such complex vaccines and building the infrastructure and facilities to build to have the right manufacturing capabilities that do the quality testing, safety protocols to ensure the vaccines are safe is not easy
