FEATURE: Cash for kids comes to the United States but who knows about it?

article image placeholderCash for Kids Comes to the United States
It was done by the Data for Progress, which is a canvassing program. And they went doortodoor and people did not know. Half the voters didn't know about this new child tax credit. So what are we going to do? Do we go knock on doors? How do we help these families who are eligible for this program to benefit from the program? There's a big gap. 8 million kids not getting it. Huge gap

A lot of kids are struggling. They're not getting the kind of support that other kids in other countries get. So well done. America. I hope this works. I hope it stays long term. I'd like to see it happen for people. I've got a couple of friends who live in America who are expecting children, and I did remind them about this, and they didn't even know about it themselves. So I've money my duty

They also out themselves in a culture where they're still not feeling safe because of their parents'status. And you're right. I think there are similar policies all over Europe and in England, where there's a fear for the dreamers or the ones that are born in that country, they're fearful for their parents. So it's such a crazy system

Hey, Deborah, I heard your posting. Thanks for that info. I appreciate you looking into that. In regards to the UK, it's kind of a 50 50 thing. There are things that the government doesn't openly announce freely. You do have to kind of do some investigative work on your end to do it. But when you do have a child, they do tell you this is the paperwork you need to fill out

So this not only begs the question about this program, but every program, like, who's talking about it, who's tasked with educating the public, and how are we going to do that? I don't think there's an easy answer there, but it's definitely one that we need to focus on

And I think that is something we can learn about a little bit more and take advantage of a little bit more that there are ways of making things accessible just by better communication, better marketing standards, easy access that I think people try to obfuscate the truth by making it complicated because that's part of the business of making things complicated. And I don't know, it sounds like an evil way of seeing things or seeing things through an evil lens of agenda
