FEATURE: Portland hits 116° in Oregon heat waves third record-setting day

article image placeholderPortland hits 116 degrees in Oregon heat wave’s 3rd record-setting day
And Melissaa, I think you are going to have some specific views about climate change. So I'm looking forward to hearing your analysis of what's going on in reference to that. I do want to tell you guys, though, that 1965, there was a pre high record set of 107 degrees. So we've had waves of this, so that's to be considered in this conversation, hoping you're all safe and feeling good. And in places where there's some cool air

And it is to say the least concerning to me personally, particularly since there were fires here last year, and people are still a little bit, I'd say effective from that psychologically and, of course, environmentally. And now we have this extreme way, and there was hardly any precipitation this year. So water levels are incredibly low. So the combination of all of that is very concerning. And I would love if we could alleviate have climate change in the long run respond to this. Yeah

People are realizing, yes, of course it is man made and at least man affected and that we all have to do the best we can to help with this situation. So thanks for this important post. And we're right with you suffering and ash in Oregon and looking for the change

Hot hot hot

So I have a buddy who lives in Portland, and we've been flexing our temperatures online, and he is about three degrees hotter. So at 117, I think he said Frankie and we were 114 or 113 today. Right now it's 93. So it feels like a walk in the park. Nothing. I did go outside to post this because I didn't want to post from the air conditioning. I felt it would be unrealistic

Thank you Stanley family

Hey, Stanley Clan I am in Pikesville, Maryland. It is also 93 here. It was high of 97, I believe, a few hours ago. What confounds me is the parallel between our experiences, and I never thought of Oregon as a place that it would ever get that hot. The Northwest always seemed like the Oasis to me

Hello, everyone. I'm contributing a little bit late to this, but I think the main concern is that people are still ignoring a few people. I mean, select a handful of people are still ignoring it and disregarding it, and they're making all these excuses. I was talking about this with my family and most of the people who applied as well, most of my family that replied as well. But we were talking about how people say, oh, it's just a few degrees

I mean, if you choose to believe this, which I highly suggest that the climate is warming and it's global warming is extremely serious and it's happening. And this is proof. So thank you for sharing this. This is actually one of the things I'm really passionate about on Swell is finding more like people who talk about current events as well. So thank you for sharing
