Hi, Deborah, thanks for having me on and asking me about the story I helped The New York Times write yesterday about Harvey Weinstein and a judge saying that California, you can take him into custody so he can face charges for sex crimes allegedly committed in La County. He's already serving a 23 year sentence in New York State for crimes that were prosecuted by the Manhattan district attorney

Hey, that's so interesting when you point out that you sort of became indispensable to them by sending them notes and by nurturing the relationships you have and by being out in front and helping them solve a problem that is such great notes for anyone who's trying to position themselves as being indispensable to a potential employer. So really inspiring to me. And thank you also for answering the questions about disconnecting your own personal emotions. The story. It's a classic case, isn't it?

So I probably sent a couple of these emails every four or five months when I thought about it still here, just wanted to say, Hi, do you need anything? And occasionally I would pitch a story and I World News crickets. Well, one day I got an email that said, Hi, if you're receiving this email, you're in a group email that I addressed to people who all said that they were available as stringers. I'm a new deputy editor on the Metro desk

This is such a great example of things working out when you put yourself out there. I think it's such a great also example of how the pressures on the Metro desk editor to get their stuff together when they are inheriting a new post and they're looking for people to anchor them and make them look like Rockstar. So it really teaches you that we're all trying to do good work
