Twitter & FB Lock Trump's Accounts

article image placeholderTwitter and Facebook Lock Trump’s Accounts After Violence on Capitol Hill
Do you feel like this is a too little too late kind of moment, or do you believe that they actually will go through with suspending the president's account forever? I am very curious what would happen if Trump did not have the megaphone of Twitter to broadcast himself. I'm sure he would find other ways, no doubt. But do you think it would make a difference to suspend him? I'm curious what your thoughts are

Update update Update looks like Facebook is jumping on the bandwagon as well and has indefinitely suspended Trump's account due to him inciting violence yesterday. I personally again feel like this is too little, too late. Glad it's happening, but I think it should have happened a long time ago. A thoughtful time...

And if Parlor wasn't there to give instructions, I think that the next question is what's the policy going to be going forward with not so much from the decisions of Twitter or Facebook, but when people come into power in this country, should they be directly communicating through their private accounts? This is why there's hierarchy and sort of an infrastructure to help frame things. And Trump was brilliant at framing things with very basic information, with lots of language of fear and to really divide people

And this was a person who broke into the capital with everybody else, and then was the first person to attempt to break into a room that was clearly being blocked. There was someone on the other side, clearly with a gun drawn. And now this woman has lost her life. She has two kids and all because she was willing to risk that life for a man like President Trump, who ultimately does not care about her. And apparently this was the tweet that she put out on Thursday

@DBPardes @Taylor Questions

And similarly to a lot of the research I've done in writing about mass shootings, there's always a trail, very rarely a trail online that is very rarely. Is there just no evidence that something like this was about to happen? And I'm curious if either of you know why something like this was not stopped beforehand. And I know part of the organizing most of it it seemed, happened on parlor

I'm thinking mostly of four Chan, a platform which I would hold responsible for most of the awful things that have happened publicly, like in terms of shootings or events like this over the last several years

I know this is a little late on posting. I've just been going to post here. I think it's kind of unfair that Trump Twitter and Facebook account while he was president were suspended. Some see that some of his tweets and such were a little far fetched, but a lot of what he said, a lot of people didn't want to hear, and a lot of these Twitter accounts had a lot more dangerous things on it than what he posted
