China wants its young men to be more ‘manly’
The mandate to young Chinese men by their government is to get more Manly in what is seen as a sexist move. The Chinese Education Ministry has issued a rather peculiar proposal to schools prevent the sex feminization of male adolescence. And how do they propose to do it by recruiting retired athletes as teachers and getting them to focus on cultivating masculinity? Yes, you heard that right among students. Czefi

But also the article says that it's been really difficult for Chinese men who have tattoos or piercings to be allowed in the media because they come under scrutiny. So there seems to be a lot of confusion going on here with masculinity and what that means and the rules for how men and boys should present to be seen as acceptable, which I'm definitely not in agreement with. But either way, this was interesting to learn about. So thank you for sharing

You find a lot of remakes of Korean drama et cetera, which is very widely watched in China, which the government is not very happy about. They'd rather that their meal protagonist on the military uniform and throw a tough line. So it's being matched about conflict. You know, creating conflict, going to war, is that what defines being match? I don't know so many questions
