Why I Hate the Independent Woman Trope

article image placeholderUploaded by @wayuphigh
But you have to you have to if you're by yourself, you have to this is even separate from the conversation of single parenting and when children are involved. I have single women friends who are professionals and work and own homes and they have to either hire someone to cut their grass or they got to cut it. They got to take their own trash out. They're responsible for cooking meals, they're responsible for walking dogs. They're responsible for booking doctors appointments

Good afternoon. I just want to say that I was one of those women that would yell out, I'm an independent, I don't need no man, I don't need this, I don't need that. At the end of the day, I need a lot of stuff. I just was just a hard head and didn't want to ask for stuff. And that's not even when it comes to being on your own as a young person to an adult, okay?

However that looks like in the realm of the day to day life. But I just am trying to get, I guess, a conversation into the zeitgeist to be shifted to, like you're saying, responsible partnership over independent womanhood or independent and hood

But surely the triumph a single mother must feel to make her way up in the world. It trumps what a man is doing. Unless if we're Danny Tanner. Can a man be independent? Sure. But is a man bound by a lot of the customs and traditions that a woman has to be bound by? Not really. Right

And that was my way of building myself and making myself stronger is by becoming an independent woman. But it also backfires because you can't enter a real relationship feeling that you can do all of this better than a man, because most men feel that they should be providers and protectors and take care of their family. So he feels that he's with a woman that could do everything on her own. I guess it's a sense of saying that he's not needed and so she's left by herself

But yeah, she wanted to go on a date to have a nerf fight, something like that, that would be cute, right? But the problem is I was wondering where we would be going for this nerve fight, to be honest. I don't want nobody coming to my house right away, as shocking as that sounds. A guy not wanting women over right away. I think I want to build to that moment rather than have it happen the first time

Thank you for responding back. I never heard of the dating app Bumble before, but her wanting to play Nerf with you, that's unheard of. What started I'm no longer married. I think what started with him competing against me, demeaning me and everything is because he's sexist. He look at women at a certain type of way
