Spoke about what Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s life and work meant to me.

But it's just that she worked case by case, so brilliantly to give us all so many rights and so many possibilities in our lives. And that's what I meant by it. And I have a daughter and all her friends. They just assume they're going to take on the world and you know what? They have that attitude, and they will. And we need them to carry the torts, just like we have to carry the torch for her

Can you share one "case" of yours...

So with that in mind, I would love to reflect on how you have approached your life, case by case and maybe bring up some milestones that you're proud of, where you have to take a breath and say, okay, this is life right now. How am I going to approach this? How am I going to move through this and take it as a challenge and an opportunity as opposed to something that just crushed you

Day by Day, a song from the musical Godspell has been a guide.

I went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts to acting school, and a manager who was plugged into the whole New York City and film scene, saw me in a play in my second year at the Academy, and I went on the road with Godspell, and he got me an audition for Paul Mozzareski for the film Harry and Tanto. And that sort of started my film career and TV after that

Simple awards / rewards 🍿

Maybe name a couple of things that really are tangible that people can listen to and say, wow, I want to try that in my life, in the spirit of just this collective, swell universe where we're all trying to hear each other and understand what's going on? What are you doing? To stay afloat and to stay alive, connected to simple joys. That really can mean a lot and give us an extra mile

Daily what to do and have been doing during Covid-19.

So I've been contributing money for the election to different places, and I'm going to start writing letters. I hear you can do that for Florida. I don't know. There are things we can do daily. And I've also been it's been kind of fun. I have a front porch that's sort of long and narrow and different friends have come over on various evenings, and we social distance and have some wine and dinner and just visit out there

Stories in the ether landing on screen #indie

And there is a lot of decision making, a lot of red tape, and it's hard to get green lights for products and projects that are great. Are you thinking about maybe doing some stuff in alternative channels that we'll be able to enjoy? And is it even possible because I know it's still a financial burden to do that. So can you speak to a little bit about that and how this whole new era of connecting to your life and your other passions might trickle down to us?

How I’ve been able to get stories out now? These days? Working on it.

Okay, Brazen, plug it's on Amazon and you can rent it there with Piper Laurie and Brooke Adams and just had the time of my life. And that was a very small crew. And of course, it was a film for 4900, which isn't 20 million, which is what they usually are if it's a low budget. But I have been a part of this. Shelby Lynn, the Grammy Award winning singer songwriter. I have been a part of her Chronicles this past summer

You really have put your heart and soul into this company. And what makes it most interesting to me, from the perspective of how to creative minds solve problems is I really do. Look at Mayron's Goods as a sort of an ongoing series, and each product is like a new character. And I love how you view your brand with you

How Mayron’s Goods got started.

It's like we're on the front lines and times are tough and jobs are few. And this is just classic, basic, timeless, great skincare. And it's got nothing bad in. It only wonderful stuff. My father is still researching all kinds of ingredients. And if something the preservative doesn't look good anymore, he'll change it to something more natural. So we're always working with the formulations and making them as great as we can be

Hey, this is Deborah in her Deborah Swell cast just to thank you, Melanie, again, for being here and giving us your time and your voice. And I'm excited to see how this conversation grows and just love to you and your family and for everyone else. This is what's Swell is all about. Talking to people and connecting about the whole life, not just one corner of it. And it's super exciting that we can do this. And looking forward

So I was just thinking that that might be a great option where a collaborative team could work remotely and still put out an intriguing product. I don't know if you ever listened to Homecoming, but it was very well done. And there's been other, obviously serialized stories told some of them really great. And so I was just wondering if you've ever thought of this as an option, or is it just something that something you'd rather just stay away from?

Women supporting women....your experience?

But some of the things that you had mentioned kind of really just made me very curious about your experience is that obviously male dominated industry for you, mine as well. I actually ultimately ended up in ecommerce type of venture, which is kind of interesting that you have that with your father, which I'm fascinated by, could have a whole conversation about that. However, what is your experience? Mine is very interesting

Answer about thirtysomething and what’s going on.

Hey, Robin, thanks so much for listening to the swell broadcast with Deborah. I'm glad you liked 30 something. You know, we all were like, what happened to 30 something, even the actors that were on it. I don't know what happened with the show. It got canceled very suddenly when we thought we had another season. So they were going to do if you can believe it, it's 30 years later
