It's just interesting to know that people read his work and they studied him and over time he became this larger than life figure. I'm just wondering when that tipping point happened, when he became super popular and was that an event or was that a book? And I would love to find out more about that. So maybe it's just a question from you or an answer from you about when did he become larger than life and become this person that everybody knew about through his magic and his religion?

It was the beginning of the counter cultural revolution.

I first found out about him in 1972. I was working in a bookstore at the time and read through his book and I thought, wow, that's really kind of wild. Other things were going on at the time also. There was astrology and palmistry. Numerology. Phrenology. Psychokinesis. I Ching. Pillars of Destiny. ESP. There was all kinds of stuff that people were studying at the time because people were looking for alternatives to what became known as the establishment
