Reason… or excuse?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Vocalizah
Hey, everybody. Here's a question for you. There's no real answer, maybe, but I would like to hear some discussion about it because boy, I've just been thinking about it for a few days. What's the difference between a reason and and an excuse? Because we give a reason for something. But let's say we've all been there at school, right?

What is communicated, what's intended or meant by what's communicated, and then what's understood, translated, interpreted and so on. And also the lenses we perceive them through. And when we decide to instead of hearing a reason, we slap on a moral judgment or someone who wants to slap on some sort of judgment to elicit some sort of an emotional response that makes us feel better instead of simply giving this straight up reason by making it an excuse instead of a reason. I don't know

But in the social world, where we're like, I need an excuse not to go to this party, that's more like it. Is what you've said before it's a manipulation? But my first thought when I was hearing Christina speak is that tone is such a big part of this conversation because reason has a different tone than an excuse. Great question
