Are other people's triggers your problem?

article image placeholderUploaded by @OwenWilsonsNoze
I saw this thing earlier and it said, your triggers are not my problem. And I was, like, triggered by that. I thought it was kind of interesting because I was like, yeah, I know that I've been triggered before. And, like, I jump down people's throats or something. And I just thought it was funny because it was fitting

What's your take ? Should you water yourself down to make others comfortable?

🤔

Hello, Lindsey. Interesting subject matter here. You know, I find that a lot of people aren't comfortable talking about their triggers, and if you left it up to them, they don't get triggered by anything in the media. Lately, it's been shown that triggering is something, that it's other people's problem, not yours. But, yes, it's always fascinating to me when other people get triggered by things, and they assume that you do too

#personalresponsibility #trigger #healing

If I'm not and I just happen to be either an observer or bystander then, really it's not my responsibility. And I think a lot of times in society, as humans, as people, we just place responsibility onto people for things that really don't need to be placed. It's an individual responsibility. It's always been an individual responsibility to seek healing, to seek growth, to overcome the things that if they are aware, they need to overcome

And there are things now that are triggered, but not in the sense that someone else should modify their behavior, but that it initiates a particular emotional response in me that I'm not always proud of. And so I feel like that's on me to handle and work through, process, heal from, et cetera

@OwenWilsonsNoze: Professor X…

He was wheelchair bound, but he had a supernatural ability to invade, to observe, to snoop around in people's minds. And from this super sensory ability he could also, according to the comics, and not so much in the movies anymore, but he could also sense the emotion, the pain, the sensitivities or sensory inputs that other people had, right? So if you were angry, he could feel that anger

It can be offensive if that wasn't, quote unquote, art and they just did it in public, like in just a regular situation when you're engaging somebody else and you do some of that s*** that they do artistically as an a** woman, or somebody might say, hey, I need that particular skill set. I need your particular skill set. Let's go do some really bad s*** together. Then it's not to say it's bad

These responses. Left me .... 😳💞🙏

And it was kind of a funny thing, but yeah, I don't know, it would have to be then stemming from me because my perception of what other people might be triggered by, I don't want to offend them, but why would I even be so bold as to think that I would know? And so obviously it's my own triggers, like reflecting in others, reflecting back in me, if that makes sense. Thank you so much

It's people white knighting for other people, but the people they're speaking for usually aren't speaking because they really aren't as offended as the people that are speaking. But that's just my take. Bye

And so if you're laughing about somebody's mom just dying and you post something like, his mom just died or something, or my friend's mom just died and it was funny or something and somebody's mom just died and they see her post and they're not going to think that's funny. It's just by society common sense. One of the things you just don't joke about

They're more disturbed at the fact that someone, not them, not someone they know, not a relative, but someone on the news somewhere was taken advantage of and that just bothered them so much. And they equated that with the fact that most feminine people experience it daily. Just like trying to explain to Caucasian people in the country. They don't want any rights infringed on Ever or even somebody that they know
