So we're going to have a conversation today with a woman, and then hopefully her partner is going to join because she's off at another event. But we're going to talk about a podcast dedicated to helping people understand the market of Korean television and specifically looking at all the genres you have the romance and Sci-Fi and comedy and horror and how do you choose and they connect with listeners to talk about what's cool, what's going on in Korean pop culture

So after watching my first K drama in Goodness, 2010, it was a long time ago. I became addicted to it and reached out to a streaming service that was looking for writers to do reviews on Korean dramas. Fast forward about five, six years is when I met Melissa at KCON, which is a convention based around Korean entertainment. And then I a little time jump again

But once we settled in our groove and really started connecting with our listeners and especially with each other, we started reaching out to other content creators so they could talk about the dramas that they liked or what they didn't like and why. And then most recently, we started actually reaching out to different actors because we wanted to know what's it like for us, watching it is everything looks flawless, but for an actor, they could have a very different take on it

I feel like they usually go to the New Yorker or like Billboard or these really big name companies. So for them to speak to us, it's amazing. And we're always very grateful to have that opportunity

I feel like it wasn't about me. I'm really examining myself for that reason. I in. Like, why did I never see a Korean fill before? And did Parasite completely change the game? Or is that just an explosion that happened and then died down

But yeah, Parasite is a great film, great actors, and then just being accessible to everyone just kind of all came together. And now we are in this, like this boom. This explosion of everyone wanting more Korean content

And I think we're going to include Melissa Kim in this conversation tonight so that she can join Point and have our own perspective on things. But for you, Sara, where does this fit into your story and what are some of your goals

When it comes to Korean dramas and films, there's still a lot of people out there who are interested, but they don't know where to start. So I always tell people, if you need suggestions, if you need help, listen to our podcasts, you can definitely email me. I'm always down to help people get started in this, just opening their eyes to Korean content. It's absolutely amazing and I'm just so proud to be in this space at this time
