being on an IEP

article image placeholderUploaded by @isabellacroston
I really wished I utilized the resources my IEP gave me more, especially in high school, because being on one, it did transfer all the way through high school and basically I had more time to do certain assignments and different accommodations and stuff like that and those resources were very beneficial and if you have them, utilize them because it's not embarrassing and I just wanted to come on here and really just say that because anyone else that may have struggled with feeling embarrassed for just needing some extra help, it's so sad to me because that just shouldn't be something that's embarrassing and I ended up learning so many different things through having an IEP because I had to learn to ask questions when I needed help because being put in small classroom settings with people who just want to do nothing but help you makes you need to ask for them when you need them because I would get an assignment and just look at it with a blank expression on my face because I knew I didn't know what to do and I had to learn to ask those people for help because that's what I was there for and that's what they were there for too

I remember every time those meetings would come up and I would just be so sad because all of your teachers were there and whoever else. And it was just a lot of pressure because all of your teachers are sitting there together, like, talking about you as a student, which is kind of like you were just saying, really intimidating because all of these teachers, they may not interact really, but because of me, they were all put in one room to talk about me
