If biohacking was a human right...

So if we pretend that modifying our genome, it becomes like child's play and anyone can do it to do anything that we want. Instead of going down the path of how terribly wrong this could go, I want to entertain the idea of what if it was a human right? What would change? When topics like this come up, you often hear people talking about and passionately that what it is to be human should be preserved. But I'm curious, why can't we allow for expansion?

(This can go in so many directions, so please feel free.)

@SeekingPlumb a bit of a rambling response :)

Right. I think on that premise, the way I look at it is what defines a human and whether you should preserve that. To me, those are kind of self laid out traps. And what I mean by that is, if you look at words in general, right, what nature is we use employee words to make things. We employ classifications, definitions. These are just ways that we have made up to kind of understand and kind of interact and manage the world around us. Right

And if we want that to continue, well, then there are certain things that we have to choose to do or regulate or all of these other things that make complete sense. Thank you. Thank you for your thoughts and for articulating things that I was thinking or had needed remind of. Thank you

cool question!

And I think apart from the possibility that there would be inequities and how you could distribute this kind of work, would everybody be able to access these certain things that could help them modify their genome? But something that I was thinking about when you were talking about what could be the good parts of it was for me, I'm trans

Maybe it's a silly question, because if the boxes didn't exist, you wouldn't necessarily be asking yourself, what is gender? Or what is gender to you? And how do you want to create that for yourself? What's, that be a bad thing? Would that be a good thing? An indifferent thing? Yeah. Any thoughts?
