Do you relax in ways related to your college major?

article image placeholderUploaded by @kenzie
And I've been doing a lot with work and school, and it's just being a little bit overwhelming. So I was wondering, what ways do you guys relax and unwind? Because as someone in engineering, a lot of people around me have hobbies that are also engineering and computer science related. And I find a lot of people in their downtime relax by doing personal projects that aren't related to school but still require that Stem use of their brain

Do you do STEM related activities in your free time as a STEM major? Is working on a personal project a break from academics if related to your major?

Some of my hobbies are a little related to my major just because I enjoy my major. So they'll be related. But yeah, I think it would be good to just do different things and try new things and not focus on one thing all the time

I don't think I'd actually like to go major. I don't think I'd go and then do something related to that and like my free time probably. But I like doing a lot of other stuff outside acting and doing films. That is really fun for me, but it's not necessarily related to my major. But I don't really like relaxing either. It's like relaxing just strictly like doing something that you just really like calm view. They have a free massage

For me in ways to relax. I usually do it closely to related to my major. I'm a journalism major. So for me, just relaxing. Yes. Will be sometimes just reading a book or just, you know, catching up up with some latest news stories that are happening, some with pop culture, some with serious news. That's for me really. I mean, I think just reading a book and just taking the time to read is what helps

So it's funny because I spend like all day in class like learning about about fish because I'm focusing on ichiology and I'm learning about fish and I'm learning about fish ecology and I'm learning about marine invertebrates and fisheries management and then on my time off it's actually cool because then I get to actually go out and see it for myself

I'm so jealous that you go spearfishing. I've wanted to go with my friend Julian. He said he would take me out, but the opportunity just hasn't arisen yet. Where where do you live that allows you to go spearfishing? Are you on the West Coast

I think it's because we're so deprived of everything else in our lives that when we finally get a moment to do something else, we're obviously going to take that and just try and do as much as we can. That's completely unrelated. So I was reading Fast Food Nation, which is a great book. I haven't picked it up in a little bit just because I got busy. I also really enjoy backpacking

Hi Kyle. I am on the West Coast. I'm in California because I'm a lucky Bee and I grew up here on the coast. Super, super privileged to grow up on the California Coast. I currently am at Cal Poly Humboldt. So I'm in in a town called Arcada. Arcada is a very magical place. It has an ocean that has so much biomass. There's tons of fish here. You can surf here, you can Spearfish

I go on Zillow all the time and I just look at houses up there, like someday to have a house over here. But I will take you up on that offer if I ever make my way up there

And it's just like a really calming space for me, just like seeing all the art. And there's something about being in that building itself. It's very quiet. It's air conditioned. Not a lot of people come in. So it's kind of like a nice place to just sit and look at the art and kind of calm down. You can put your headphones in excuse me headphones in and walk around. It's just really nice to kind of like being in that environment
