Talk to Me Tuesday: Ideology of vulnerability

article image placeholderUploaded by @Her_Sisu
Because I want people to understand that beyond the hersisu, the doctor, JL, that I'm an author, I'm an international speaker, and Dot right, that I am still human, I am still evolving, I am still growing. I no longer want to paint this perfect picture, which is a facade which almost killed me literally and figuratively

And sometimes it's a delicate balance to go between the two because you want to show that you're vulnerable, that you're easy to talk to, that you do feel. But life has made you kind of hard and you don't want to show that. So starting from my children, I said this is how I want to create a safe environment for them. I want them to be able as a man to show that being soft or being vulnerable does not make you weak

Hi, Dr. JL. I'm so happy to have met you once well, I mean, you were the you were the one who first touched me. You appreciated me for one of my swells. And from then onwards, we got connected it. And today I have gone through your YouTube channel also and I have posted my comment there. I'm so happy you are vulnerable. I'm so happy you have spoken up against domestic violence

That's amazing. You, in turn, have shown that to your children. I'm doing the same with my teenage son and have done it since he was little, much to my parents dismayed. My father was definitely a huge one. Boys don't do to show emotions. And I was like, no, I need for him to be whole, healthy, and healed and able to communicate. Now, with that being said, I am not a perfect mother

To help others heal out loud, to encourage them to heal out loud, to encourage them to choose themselves first. It's so super important and paramount that we do that and that we model that for the youth and other people and encourage, inspire and uplift other people. I could go on and on. I'm so glad you and I have connected on this platform and thank you so much for your support and thank you for contributing to talk to me Tuesday

To wipe out tears from the eyes of women who give out so much. We are the ones who are capable of giving birth to and we are the ones who are neglected so much. So I've seen my mother struggling. I've seen a lot of ladies housewives struggling, even if they had the qualities. Today I got to know about one girl. She was bitten so badly by her husband that now she's admitted in a hospital. She can't even text anybody because her fingers are cut

We sucked it up and got past it and did the hard things and made it through. But I'm really glad we've both learned to share with others and teach others through our experience that you can survive, you can get past this, and there's nothing wrong with you because this happened to you. This was just something that happened. This isn't who you are. You hit it spot on with the fact that this is a linear journey

And so I no longer have that shame or embarrassment about sharing those things. I do appreciate you responding to the Talk to Me Tuesday. And as I mentioned, it was beautifully, beautifully sad and articulated, and I appreciate you

But I wrote down about how your mom said while they talked about Jesus. That was very much something my mom or my grandmother may have said to me as well. And it is true. If they can treat him so shamefully harshly and put him on display in his death, then I guess we all have to be expected to be treated poorly at some point in time in our days. And it's definitely a good reminder that no one is immune to being treated poorly
