A take on Cancel culture

article image placeholderUploaded by @Binati_Sheth
Because if you don't attempt to understand people, you miss out on the sentence, you miss out on the symptoms. You definitely will be surprised, pikachud shocked when the DC shows up, right? Because you are busy canceling the symptoms. Symptoms don't just get canceled if the disease is there, it's going to activate itself at some point, right? It's just lying in wait, waiting for the perfect milestone to brew, so to speak

Or by questioning it, I might potentially introduce doubts which might shake my faith and may risk my sanctification. And so I can't get anywhere close to so I shall not, will not ask questions. And like, this sort of behavior reminds me of the same thing. And so curiosity in itself almost becomes a foreign thing, particularly if it's only being perceived through a binary perspective

And if someone does not really align with our views or say something outrageous for shock value, it's our job as society to bring them in, to educate, to elevate them, not to cancel them, not to bury them. It's like you want to wipe them off the face of the Earth because they made a mistake or several mistakes. We embrace controversy, but we don't embrace change. People are different

That is something I believe whether I'm right or not, I don't know but yeah, it manages to find that disgusting thought you had and just dial it up to ten. Right? And then that's it. And all of this is, I think, mostly happening because in real olive there are things we cannot talk about at all, right?

Primarily because no matter what context you fit a redemption arc in romance, science fiction, something like an erotica, even, the redemption arc always works because redemption as a trait is such a human thing. I don't know. Internally we all believe that people are good and people can be good, but somehow it is not really reflecting well in common society at times. Or rather it seems that way, at least online

So if that gap is smaller, then it's seemingly difficult to make significant strides in any sort of new discoveries or innovations, et cetera. Now, part of me buys into that to an extent, but we also don't know what we don't know, right? So if we were to attempt to break this down mathematically, I don't know how much percentage really lies there with respect to why innovations are limited at the moment

And then if you also know you're going to potentially be facing death threats, well, then you're going to pick the field of study that you're going to go into very differently. Right. And even if you do pick the field that you want, you may be very cautious about what information you share publicly or even with fellow scientists right. Because of public opinion, because of this binary responses. And yeah, it's a lot

So it's a big a big professional issue for me. I have to push back so much. Like, please make it simpler. Please make it simpler. Yeah, that was me venting a little bit. But yes, I do realize that academia is largely unaccessible. And what Internet has done is it has made a lot of these things accessible because A, there are a lot of content creators who are simplifying a lot of these things for articles and such, right?

Again, I think it's sort of a knee jerk response, but it's sad because there could be a greater understanding if we didn't get locked into certain terms must be used, certain ways of perceiving or certain even angles of points of view. I just had a conversation with somebody on clubhouse where he wouldn't let me finish, which was irritating in itself, but I was trying to show him that although he had reduced his understanding, he kept trying to say he's putting it into structure

Just like how I am coming from something similar and unless I contextualize it, which does not have space on social media because how am I going to compress my life and all that? I know in 150 words it's not possible, right? Yeah. So something to be said about the Pandora's box, isn't it? I do this thing on LinkedIn audio called Mythology Chats where we look at mythology and we try to olive derive alternative logical threads and things like that from it

Because it's this concept of if they pretend and they go down that path, which opens up the door for questioning, it's going to potentially threaten their faith. And although my path took me out of the faith, I could see for some people that asking the questions and finding answers to those questions might reinforce their faith

The SoCal affair and then there's the Bogdan outfitters or the River SoCal. These two things shook the world of academia very literally, because they scamp their ways into it's. Funny. I'll tell you about this later, but if you look at all of these things and I don't know how I came to SoCal, I've completely lost my thread of thought. But the point is that there is no point to having arguments with people. Oh, yeah, I remember what my point was

But I'm not sure that I followed with respect to what you were observing in me and what we read about him with respect to where he was at when he drank the poison and where I'm at now. I don't know. I've my head is in a different space, so I'm not making the connections. So I'm not seeing what you're seeing. I'm curious of any elaboration you have for that

And then some men online started saying, if a man were to do this to an actress manuf joke, the punchline was, look at these men. The rights that they want are molestation. So I know I shouldn't laugh at this, but it's funny, right? Like these very typical men's rights activists, not genuine men's rights activists, they pick very specific hills to die on. So we have one of these type of people in the group and everyone just ignores him

Thank you. I completely missed it, but now I've caught up. I like it. Don't poison yourself, but pretend as if you have been or act as if you have been. And the humor behind Socrates choosing to accept the poison and to die while we choose to live and fight on the things we do for the reasons that we do. Thank you
