Because I definitely don't want it to come off as a power struggle or from ego. And I'm open to tips and suggestions from those of you who have raised teenagers he's 13 and now have young adults that are still raising teenagers. I know it was years ago, but I understand working, having a background in neonatology, it still leaves an impact on and you are correct, I did also grow up in the era of receiving spankings. And then once I reached about middle school age, which is where my son is, they stopped that and it went into a two week punishment, like, where I lost consequences for two weeks
You speak from love and you don't speak from a place that seems like you have any power mover, ill will to harm your son. It sounds like a lot of love and that's great because speaking from my experience, when my mom no longer took on that specific role as far as that version of authority with me being a young adult, I remember thinking how many times I was loved as far as her approach to connect with me and the things that she did
