The College Football Playoff: Semi Finals Game Day

article image placeholderUploaded by @Phil
South Carolina is their only win. This was not a great conference this year. I'm sorry. Georgia and Alabama are obviously great teams, but after that, they really were a mediocre League. And the bold season, I think, is proving that out. Meanwhile, Michigan absolutely beat a fantastic Ohio State team when Ohio State was at its peak. Give me Michigan, Michigan. Give me Cincinnati. Let's get rid of the SEC and let's do this

I am ready

And I love what you said about Georgia. They beat a decent closing team. And who else have they beat since Michigan? Kind of the same thing. They beat Ohio State and they lost the Michigan State. Michigan State makes you look decent tonight, but at the same time, I don't know what to expect from this game. I think it's going to be a closed game. I think people keep running off Michigan

Don't want to forget CMU-WSU and Wake-Rutgers

I imagine it's going to be ugly in the second half. I imagine it's going to be very ugly, but that's the only interesting thing about this game. The second game, Washington State and Central Michigan. I am very interested in this game and that's for two reasons. One, Washington State, this is a team that lost their coaching staff under the most perplexing of circumstances that I can ever remember

I'm also looking at I don't ever bet Michigan, but at plus 240, I can make a bet. And if they win, it pays for my ticket for the National Championship, some debating that right now, looking through odds and trying to convince myself to do that. I did hit a big bet today at Aqueduct. It was my biggest one bet of all time. And now I'm looking at just PPS right now and I see a horse. You're going to laugh at this

CMU and Wake!

Yeah, big day ahead of us today. I'm going to do this in two segments so as to not short change either of these slice of bowl games today. So we'll get started with Wake Forest and Rutgers. This line opened at wake -17 and honestly, I'm all over that. I think it's great that Rutgers is rewarded with a bowl game because spade opened up and their Apr is high. That's all well and good

UGA/CINCY!!

Now for the playoffs. These are going to be some exciting games to watch. I hope you know, what usually happens in the playoffs is two teams blow out the other two teams and we get a National Championship. But this year might be different for a number of reasons. First of all, we'll get into Cincinnati and Alabama. Cincinnati has been at plus 13 and a half all week long. It's been very annoying because I wanted it to go to 14, and it just has not

I didn't play either of the early games, and one of the main reasons is I just don't know the mindset going in. I don't know, records. If I was really playing seriously, I would have some sort of in to let me know on players of Rutgers, of who went and started drinking and opening a bag of potato chips after the season was over. I'd really want to know that. And I trust that the coaches are really not going to get too aggressive

Daxton Hill..how big would that be? @mitchyro99

So any time you lose a player of that caliber, I think it is significant, but I would like to know from our resident Michigan expert just what he thinks, on how much of a lost action Hill would be

And I play that position behind DAX and the defensive captain speak highly of these guys. They can handle it. It's just you got to be able to smart. You have to move the defense in the right position. Dax does it better than anyone. But these freshmen can play, too, and I expect them to step up. So there's not a lot of worry if DAX is short a little bit in playing, depending on how he feels. But I'm not worried

My official pick

But my official prediction is Alabama next game. Michigan, Georgia. I kind of think Georgia is a little overrated. Like Phil mentioned, they only beat comes in with a defensive touchdown, ten to three. Who else? They really beat the SEC? We've all said this they're kind of down this year Besides Alabama, Georgia. And I think Alabama is just the better team out of Georgia, and I think they kind of got exposed

Bets

So I'm not going to touch the over under in this game. But then Georgia, Michigan. I like Michigan plus seven and a half, seven and a half points. I love that line because if they lose by touchdown, he still hit the bat. But I think Michigan will win this game and has a good chance to win this game. So that's why I love plus seven and a half, even more. Even Michigan plus 250 for the money line

New Years Day Bowl Games

I believe he's playing. That's why they're the favorite minus two and a half. I love that a lot. And the over under in this game. I feel like the under has a good chance because both teams have good defenses under 48 and a half. I'll take Arkansas minus two and a half and the under at 48 and a half. Next up, Oklahoma State versus Notre Dame. I'm not a huge fan of Notre Dame at all

Bamas first drive

Alabama Eleven play 75 yards, five minutes and 9 seconds is their first drive. Ten runs, ten straight runs gets them inside the 15 inside the Ten head. And then they throw a pass for the touchdown. So ten place or eleven place, ten of them runs. And the one that was a run was a Bryce Young sneak get out of the pocket. So it was a pass where they were trying to pass. But Young ended up running. So it does count as a run

Bearcats need TDs not FGs

So second in goal, they run another pass, a slant play to Pierce again. Good coverage by Alabama. The ball was a little high, but it had to be high. Pierce can come down with it. So it's third and goal. The play call on third and goal. Not a fan of it. They lose like ten yards on it. They kick a field goal. Seven, three. That the score. Touchdown

Halftime observations

Well, we're at halftime, actually, the second half just began, and, you know, Cincinnati has been a slow starting team historically throughout the year here, and I could see them picking it up in the second half, especially offensively. I think the gritter will kind of get into his offensive groove. Whether Alabama will allow him to do anything remains to be seen here. But I expect them to be a little bit more competitive on offense in the second half defensively

They had a few instances that they didn't finish drives that they could have finished. I mean, at the end of the day, were they less talented than Alabama? Yes, they were. But anybody that watched that game can't say that Cincinnati didn't belong. They played a good game. They just got beat. I mean, they didn't let the Heisman Trophy winner do what he wanted to do for most of the game. So take that for what it's worth

I had no fun last night watching my Walgreens get their a****. Whoop? Georgia looked bigger. They looked faster. They look stronger and Michigan just had no answer. The whole game. It reminded me of two years ago when Michigan played Ohio State and they just got dashed one on one quick route so that defensive ends linebackers going to get to the quarterback. Michigan did not have a sack all night. I'm pretty sure. And it was just a weird, frustrating game

NY6 slate

They're going to have to rely on Jack Cone, which I don't know if you remember what happened when Wisconsin used to have to rely on Jack Comb, but it wasn't pretty. And I just think Oklahoma State is one of the better teams in the country, frankly, and 1 YD difference would have had him the the the the College Football Playoff semi finals. That this one lines up. Well for the folks. I think Oklahoma State takes care of Notre Dame today. Iowa and Kentucky

And that includes Benny Snell, who was a high draft pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in that final ball game and he carried the team on his back, won it almost single handedly, and it was awesome. It was just a memorable bowl experience and Kentucky will come to play. Iowa has been struggling. They kind of went downhill running back. As Tony mentioned, the running back is not playing. I still got a feeling about Iowa
