Women are called Goddess in Indian culture. Do you think it's an indirect way for patriarchy to chain ladies?

I would really like to hear your views on it as acknowledging women as humans beyond the image of a Goddess is necessary for her empowerment is my take. So should we change the way we address the lady? What are your thoughts on it? Let us have a discussion

Every girl born in India is made to believe she is Goddess. The pedestal forces women to keep an image that's humanly not possible. #sayitonswell

And if it's completely fine to worship Goddesses and it's completely fine to consider Goddesses as a perfect standard or perfect women or perfect amount of beauty and what not. But you should not throw these kind of notions towards enormous human being. I mean, obviously we see superheroes and we consider them as perfect. But you cannot just take these standards and throw upon the normal people stating that, oh, these superheroes are perfect

The thought of making or thinking a human being as a property is behind killing a girl child in the warmth. So when we say like if we have to progress, we have to remove a lot of terms from our social system and it is important that we do it step by step because we cannot do everything together. Even today, if you ask me, like all the marriage rituals, all the marriage rituals are biased bias towards women. Nothing gives her the independent identity

Hi Mira. Yes. As you mentioned that women are considered as goddess in Indian culture which is because that woman is the person who is able to give birth to the child and she is the person who have more patience as well as the person who das more hyper like Kali

We are just understanding them, looking at the photo frames. It's also one aspect. And only when we recognize our strength, the society will start respecting us also. So that first we have to accept we are humans so that we can raise our understanding and our knowledge to become better humans and better individuals, so that we command respect from the society. Thank you once again for replying

I just want to say that those who are being treated as goddess, why the Goddess is till the time when there is something which is related to Goddess like any festival, we will talk about Durka Puja at that time also, we treat our woman as a Goddess. Some other worships in which a woman is more valued, more concentrated, they are again treated as a goddess. And why? If a woman is Goddess, then she is Goddess for always

Like how talking and telling women they are Goddess and at the same time even their basic rights are denied to them. That is how we the Indian society at least at present is running. We tell women is shaking but she strategy lots. So that is how it is. The sacrifices are demanded, her dreams are crushed. In short, the Goddess is only there to bless the man whatever he wants. Goddess is not there to demand something from the man. And that is the reality of our society

That is what establishes gender equality. Then further on the property rights, they have to be equal for a man and a woman, of course, on paper it is equal, but how parents distribute the property, that has to be actually be implemented equally in certain religions outside, I believe the inheritance right for women are less. I'm not going to comment on that. Next step is marital rights, including the right to divorce in case a woman does not. Like her partner

But the problem here is that it said we have all these rights but unfortunately, certain decisions are not perceived as right by the society. And they make the life harder for ladies who have taken such options. One such option is deciding not to get married. Second option is deciding whether to have a child or not at that point of time. Third, deciding to work post motherhood or if you give some importance to your career when you are a mother
