Processed Meats Known to Cause Cancer

article image placeholderUploaded by @regan
So like tobacco or asbestos, those things are really bad for you to consume and are very likely to cause cancer in people. So now they're saying that processed meats are very likely to or not very likely, but known to cause cancer in people, which I think for a lot of people, but especially American to grew up on like lunch meat and bacon and stuff. It's very scary because that was like my bread and butter growing up

A food that many of us grew up eating may lead to cancer #food #health #scary

I don't know if that water is any better, but rainwater that's thought to be maybe more closer to the health is not necessarily an option really anymore. But I think you're right. If they're going to say that processed meats are in the same category as things like cigarettes and asbestos, then there should be similar warnings on lunch meat. It's kind of crazy. Not just lunch meat either, but like the salamis and the pepperoni sticks and all of that too

So I actually arranged for a visit with one of the topmost cancer specialists in India and in the world itself. The Tata Memorial is quite known for its advanced studies in cancer worldwide too. So upon meeting this person, the cancer specialist, he explained cancer in a layman's language, which I understood pretty well. He said that carcinogens do not trigger cancer in everyone. You need to have a dormant cancer gene which is activated by a particular carcinogen

And so when something goes off and we get a fever or something, supposedly the theory is that these things are working for the best for us. And so, yeah, some of us will be triggered by certain things and catch certain things while others are sponsored. He talks in there about COVID and how an entire family residing in the same space where some individuals will get COVID and then others won't

Nitrate free meat

Few years ago, I went on a real deep dive and analyzed everything that I was eating, and I did really start to realize how much nitrates were a part of lunch meats, bacon, just exactly what you say. I was looking for all alternatives, and they are readily available. There are nitrate free meats, and they sometimes go under the name all natural. And the only thing with these meats, I think the only difference is that, one, they don't have nitrates
