Do you think Indian athletes are getting enough support from the Government?

But to be fair, it's not just the government but in general. If you see in our country, sports other than cricket are not given much weightage as a career option because they aren't financially lucrative or glamorous. Even media coverage when it comes to sports is skewed towards a few sporting events alone. But of course, this is just my personal take on this and I would love to know what your thoughts are on this. Do you think Indian at least get enough support from the government?

Part 1 @Ramya @gaurangikaushik @Shilpi-Bhalla @

We were sitting on the footport till the morning when the canter of the armed forces arrived and we were taken to a spot where the rest of the solicitation was done. But that is okay. That is still okay. Now, what is happening is in current era is we are not taking sports as a part of our lifestyle. The physical training is just another thing. Many people don't even go to the gymnasiums, don't go to the gym, they don't work out

So sorry. I'm making a part one and part two is because I actually tried to fit it in one part in the first, you know, I'm going to be a bit boring, ramya, I'm so sorry. So, first part that I told you is the inside of a guy who started as as a teenager into the sports phase. I was not, right from the beginning of my life into sports. I'm very bad in paraphrasing

I'm getting a feeling like business is fixed first and then the talent hands goes on. But one advantage I can see is this so called business model is right. Lots of feed and tax are uncovered and somehow this become an easy platform for the national selectors to select players. Which was the point I was making earlier, right? Further, sports are covering the hidden talent has become a nightmare. If money or sponsorship is promoting a sport then this is a bad trade

Hi. This is a very wonderful topic. It's very important that we discuss this matter. And many of us understand that the present government, especially the Prime Minister, has been very, very supportive, speaking to our players, encouraging them. It's not about financial assistance. It's all about the support, the positive attitude and everybody has to put into their contribution. I think, personally, I feel the government is doing an outstanding job

For many of us, sports is again extracurricular activity, something that is optional, something that happens on the side and not mainstream. So I think we are all conditioned to think in a certain way. And let's not even get into how the physical education happens in school, right? You have already spoken about it. It's all these, what can I say, not so well trained or halftrained instructors. They just come and teach them basic exercises, do the sprint, do the jump

And then they achieve a little bit of limelight, after which they become superstars. They are put on a pedestal and all the attention is upon them. So, yeah, this is totally not the right way doing things, and I do hope things improve in the future, but I really appreciate you joining in and sharing your thoughts
