Longtime Dodger announcer, Vin Scully, passes away at 94
He was a bright person, a kind person, one that really loved what he did and loved everybody that he surrounded himself with every day at the ballpark. He was somebody that specifically, for those of us that grew up in the city of Los Angeles, will, I mean, really miss. This was, for many of us, the soundtrack of our childhood. Been Scully announcing games. This was somebody who, for over 60 years was the voice of Dodger baseball

Taylor over the last few days, my social media feeds, my texts, my emails have been inundated with memorials and remembrances of Vince Gully. And I have to say that that's really the power of his voice. And he was a radio announcer for so long that even though he did some TV and he did some world series and called some of the most famous plays of world series history, he was really a radio guy

Wow. I'm still shocked to hear this news. I'm currently studying to be a sports broadcaster, so this is a huge blow, not only to the baseball community as a whole, but to the sports broadcasting community as well. This is a guy who's in textbooks, on websites, and his style and preparation are still being analyzed to this day. He's by far one of the best to ever do it in American sports

And even when he was asked to come on TV, he stayed on the radio. And I really think that just shows he loved what he did. He was so passionate about it, and he was always such a humble guy, just like, saying, I would be nothing without the fans. But I saw someone post on Twitter like, the fans would be nothing without him. So I really think he was such a great guy for the sport and really sad news to see him pass away
