New to being a lesbian couple

article image placeholderUploaded by @aBirdieOnaWire
And unless that trans woman has a partner or best friend or sister or some CIS woman who is supportive and encouraging to guide her along through all those awkward things that can bring puberty on, the trans girl is left to her own devices. And for any of you women out there, you probably remember when you were a little girl and going to puberty and all those awkward kind of phases that you went through clothing choices and trying to find your style and learning makeup and all that kind of stuff

Talking about some of the struggles of being a lesbian couple after having been heteronormative. #LesbianLife #Trans #MattersOfTheHeart

Thank you 🌱🌱

I'm 57. I'm single. I've been lesbian since I was 15. I've had really wonderful series of monogamous relationships, basically three major ones. And in those relationships and all those relationships, actually, there was a real continuity between me and my partners. We were always, never defined by each other. And I'm bringing this up because it's something I really loved about my life so far. And we'll hopefully have it in the next relationship

Hmmm 56!🥸

And by the way, I am 56, not 57. And I just saw the transcription. I realized I said I was 57, but I'm 56 and I'm laughing because I don't know why, I don't know my own age, but I feel like I wanted to comment here because it's relevant. I think every day is just a big exploration of life and sometimes we forget our age. There's something very liberating about that. Maybe I'm actually 29. Who knows?

And I thought, God, really, that was one little nugget that you mentioned that I thought you could really dig down and drill down and really think about because I've heard a number of times that people who are together for many, many years and decades, that they begin to even resemble each other because of the influence they have on each other and their behavior, and they almost develop their own language between each other

Ran, thank you so much for your response. It's so meaningful to me. I'm just sitting here listening and feeling so I don't know, it brings meaning to my life, to my work. So I really appreciate it. Gayle Gibran is so brilliant

I started questioning my gender in my late fortys, and I went through all the thresholds that little boys do and as they progress into being teenagers and a young man. And throughout that time, particularly after I was a young adult and already had gotten married and I'd been in the military and I was in a fraternity in College and did all those things that little boys and young men do

Somehow I ended up on this thread on swell because I needed to record something. I had to get something out of my mind and say it. And I searched for lesbians and I found this young lesbian couple. I don't know how swell works, but there was you, and I accidentally, accidentally clicked on your comment, and your voice is so soothing. And I just had to say that

I guess I get my time caught up with other things, but I'd like to be more active. The community here has been real fun. By the way, welcome to swell. Nice to hear you. Your voice here, which, by the way, thank you so much for the compliment of my voice. It's gone through a bit of evolution since that time. When I first got on swell, it was because I had Covid and I was self quarantining away from my house
