Representative Glenn Thompson votes against gay marriage, then goes to son’s gay wedding

article image placeholderUploaded by @sebc23
And this was something that was. Like. Abhorrent to me. Essentially. This representative from Pennsylvania. A Pennsylvania Republican. Glen Thomas. Voted against the Respect for Marriage Act and then literally three days later went to his own son's gay wedding and was talking so much about how happy he was to welcome his son's husband to the family and how blessed they were that he had found somebody. And this and that. I would be so interested to hear what other people think about this

Music hey, Sebastian, thank you for posting this. And I think the word cognitive dissonance is exactly the phrase cognitive dissonance is exactly appropriate for this moment and it is abhorrent. I haven't a very similar experience. About 25 years ago, gosh, maybe even more now, my mother sent me a canceled check to the Jessie Helms Anti Gay initiative

And I'm hoping that some of the attention that's being called to it by the media is something that will make this mandatory, him twice about behaving in this way again towards his own son. So, yeah. Thank you, though, for your response
