Is skin color still important in fashion?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Manalika
We are no one we should appreciate that that person is trying is literally trying to present themselves in the best case scenario and I have seen guys who literally wear gagaras and stuff and they look better than girls so I must say that these kind of color codes and gender codes should be bashed out completely and we should start appreciating what other people try to show us and what other people are trying to present because that is something which they do with all their heart and we should not bash them for it

But not on the basis of anything like physical or that thing. Yes, I'll be judging someone on their mental abilities. If they are a good human. That's the main thing for me, but not on any physical aspect. That's how I think in fashion. No, it's not important. I saw a person. He was like having a full beard like me. He was like a person. He Das wearing a sari

Hi palakjain well I myself have a complexion on a bit darker side and I have grown with all the hate comments and now I feel that having of fair color is just a stereotype in India and coming to this stage of my life that if anyone comments on the people's complexion I feel that it is only telling about gay the mindset and the personality

I hope so because this kind of is totally unusual for me and I believe like people should move on to more equally supportive to others and being experimental with passion, with whatever you want to wear and the choices there should be a sense of Liberty themselves and should not restrict anyone else or just point out like you can't do them

According to maize, skin color is important in fashion. Still. In some part of the world, such as in India, they want a very long heighted pool with very fair color. Shade is and she do not have the way. Like, she's very slim, trim, very thin. So, yeah, I guess this still exists, and I'm very shameful that it still exists in fashion industry

Hi. I am an Alica. I don't is is is skin color still important in because I have seen many, many of the models who are dark toned, but they are doing a lot a lot of good in their field. So I don't think it is a seller stereotype in the fashion area. But I believe that everyone Das their beauty inside beauty, so we should not judge them because of their color and their complexion. I believe fashion does not work on the skin color

Hi. So I think racism and colorism in India has become so normalized. I think people really have to understand what they're doing and they have to unlearn it at some point in time and also agree with you. People shouldn't be judged based on what they're wearing or their skin tone. None of those factors matter, period. And I hate labels. So I appreciate you voicing out your opinion and calling out your friends. I think that was definitely the right move on your part

Hi. And so I think in this era, in the 21st century, it is one of the toughest tasks, toughest things to stay positive. And if a person is happy with, there are no one to charge them. And dark skin complexions, they are still beautiful. I think we should not talk about beauty in terms of the color, because either you are a dark color person or a light color person, you can be beautiful. No one has defined beauty in terms of colors

Yes, then Jyoti, I absolutely agree with your point. I mean, I don't understand it's. 2022 and differentiating someone based on their skin color is just not cool. I mean, I don't even know how it it makes any difference. Let's see if I want to befriend a person. I'll see the way they talk to me. I'll see their fashion sense because I am into fashion. So I'll see how the particular person dresses

@palakjain #sayitonswell

Yes, Palak, you are absolutely right. I mean, if a person is talking s*** about another person based on their skin color, they should definitely look inside themselves and see that how they are as a person. It's a time of image introspection. They have to think about it that, oh, maybe I'm doing something wrong. And I'm so sorry that you had to face so many types of troubles based on the stupid ideas created by our society for no particular reason

So if someone is kind of promoting light skin shades, we'll think that, oh, right now, the beauty standards ask us to be of a lighter skin complexion when we start buying something that will make us seem fairer, which is so stupid. Right. But obviously, I don't blame the people out there. They just want to be accepted by our society, which, like, our society is kind of very fickle minded for some reason

Like, my friends told me that whenever they try to buy something online, like an outfit or something like that, they say that whenever we see an outfit on a mannequin or a model, it's always on a light skinned model or a white man, Aquin what about other colors? And this is so true. Like, we have been conditioned to see models of a light skin color so much that we don't even recognize that how it's being used for partiality. Right

But on the other hand, whatever you said is completely true, that skin color should not justify someone's personality and we should see how they really are. Right. Thank you so much for raising your opinion regarding myself. I would love to have engaged full conversation with you in the future as well. Thank you

Yes, you're absolutely right. I mean, we have normalized and internalized this kind of discrimination so much that it has become normal for us. I mean, I have seen people out there who might call someone else Kalu or stuff like that, and they are their friends. Right. But the friend who was named Kalu or stuff like that, he won't even say anything about it because he knows that if you say anything, they'll come back at him

@priyajyoti #sayitonswell

Yes. You're absolutely right. We have no authority or right to just someone based on their skin color. I mean, there are a lot of people out there. Like, there are billions of people out there who have different skin shades. So will you categorize them based on their skin type said that. Okay, this person has a light skin shade, so she'll be my best friend

Hi, I'm An Priya. I hope you are doing great. Yeah. It's a very debatable topic. Is is is is is is is skin color still important in many people who, you know, judges people on their skin color. But in session, I have seen many models who Das darker skin color and they are very good at their jobs. So I guess it's not now. But yeah, at some point there's still a stereotype in our society where people judge each other

That's their opinion why we judge them or we think it's out of fashion or it is not a fashion. If you wear black with blue and all, it's all their choice. So I think we shouldn't lives and everyone lives

Like, this statement was so stupid and without any facts or any valid points, which literally made my blood boil. So these kind of still do exist even today, even though we cannot see it in a general manner. But within those layers, we do have the stereotyping still available. And this is the reason why we have to talk more about it

And I'm pretty sure something would definitely happen to her, like someone definitely say or something. And then only she realized that what she said was not cool. However, thank you so much for sharing her insightful opinion regarding this. Well, and I hope we can engage in future conversations as well

So first of all, who knows to you or doing this thing and about the question you asked that whether is skin color still important in fashion? The answer is no. Skin color is not at all important in fashion. I'm sorry, I'm seeing here the black skin people. I'm not doing any kind of racism here. I have followed the Tanya people who are a bit dark skin colored, but they look so much fabulous in any kind of brightest laminar color or the dark black color

I think the world around us is changing at a really fast pace and people are accepting more dark skin colors and even like lighter skin tones. So they are mostly treated equally. But I think more so than fashion. We face it in real life. Like you said, your friend commented on it. Even I have heard some people in my known that have commented such things and it's really bad to hear that people still think such things right now

I mean, you could clearly see all the fairness and ads that used to air on TV featuring Yami, Gotham, Charlotte and some other celebrities where they used to show that, oh, a person is of a dark skin tone and he or she's not getting any job or like acting career. But as soon as they apply this cream and they become a shade lighter, they'll eventually quickly get a job or they'll get a promotion or they'll become an actor. Just so twisted

@SavleenKaur19

Yes exactly. This is a still exist in a general manner. I just use an example of fashion to show in which different feels these kind of things are in a more prominent way like all these things happen in a prominent manner. And yeah even I have seen my friend in being kind of basis towards a particular person based on the skin color which is completely not right. And even I have tried to tell them that it's not right by judging them just let them be
